Easily block the heat out of your

House extensions with skylight

Keep your home cool, without sacrificing natural light.

A house extension is great for sitting or cooking in. Especially during the off-season when a lovely ray of sunshine comes in, but in summer it can quickly become unbearably hot. Large windows obviously provide plenty of natural light, but on hot days they also let the heat in unhindered. Fortunately, there is a remedy for this. Sun Eclipse’s sun protection screens keep up to 85% of the heat out on hot days, without sacrificing light. Thanks to the simple installation without drilling or screws, you can easily install the screens and remove them again when needed.

What makes Sun Eclipse screens the ideal sun protection for your house extension with skylight?

  • Easy to attach thanks to specially designed suction cups
  • No need for drilling or screwing
  • Up to 97% heat protection on any type or shape of flat window
  • Protects your interior from sunlight discolouration
  • Easy to place and remove when needed

How does such a screen for my house extension or skylight work?

The trick is to keep the heat out of your house extension or the space under your skylight. Sun Eclipse’s sun protection screens are therefore specially designed to reflect heat easily and quickly. Depending on the type of solar screen, you can keep out up to 97% of the sun’s heat. You easily attach the screens with specially designed suction cups. Thanks to their design, they develop extra suction on your window, so they stay firmly in place during a storm, for example. Is your skylight or house extension difficult to reach from the outside? Then you can also install screens along the inside of your windows.

This does affect the efficiency of your screens.

Are the screens from
Sun Eclipse suitable
for sliding windows?

The suction cups to attach the screens are 3.5 cm high. Keep this in mind if you want to attach them to a sliding window. Is there not enough space for the suction cups? Then choose a screen that you can place on the inside of the window.

Which type of screen do you choose it best for your situation?

For skylights and flat roof windows

For skylights and flat roof windows, we recommend Maximum Sunblock. These sun-blocking screens also have some blackout effect, keeping out up to 97% of solar heat.

  • Blocks up to 97% of the heat
  • Limited light
  • Ideal for living areas and kitchens

TIP: For a skylight or flat roof window, it is best to choose a light colour screen (e.g. White). This helps to reflect heat rather than absorb it.

For house extensions

For house extensions, we recommend Optimal view. Thanks to these screens, you can continue to enjoy an optimal view to the outside, yet they block up to 85% of the heat.

  • Blocks up to 85% of the heat
  • Without loss of light
  • Ideal for house extensions overlooking the garden

TIP: For house extensions, it is best to choose a dark colour screen (e.g. Black or Anthracite). It sounds contradictory, but these screens provide the best view outside.

At Sun Eclipse, we continually strive to provide our customers with the best possible support. For this reason, we have collected and answered the most common questions in our FAQ. This way, you can easily find answers to all your questions.

Go to FAQ
  • Do Sun Eclipse screens stay put during strong winds?

Sun Eclipse screens and suction cups stay put even during a spring storm. Our screens catch little wind because they are close to the windows and the suction cups are designed to last.

  • How many suction cups will my Sun Eclipse screen have?

The suction cups are a maximum of 100 cm apart. If your screen has a length and/or width that is larger, an extra suction cup is placed halfway so that the maximum distance between two suction cups, measured along one side, is never greater than 100 cm.

  • Is a Sun Eclipse screen sustainable?

Sun Eclipse screens are made of sustainable material, last a long time and ensure lower energy consumption when using air conditioners. It is the simplest solution to indoor heat.

  • What does excess fabric mean?

Because Sun Eclipse screens are placed 2 cm from the window’s surface, the screens are supplied with 1.5 cm excess fabric on each side (3 cm per width and height). As a result, the screens close properly and no heat and light can pass through the edges.

You can also opt for no excess fabric, for instance, if you have high square upright edges on your window frames. In this case, choose under ‘which type of frame do you have’ the option ‘Deep and angled’ when you order.

You can request any other changes in the order option. This way you can create a custom sunshade.

  • Will you come to my house to measure the windows and install the screens?

Sun Eclipse is an affordable indoor heat solution. That’s why we are online only. By letting the customer do the measuring and assembly, we keep costs, and therefore prices, low.

  • Can I request a quote?
